ABOUT US
Kidlfyx
Kreations is the ever-evolving creation of two early
interventionists in communication disorders, Jacque Scholl and
Kristi Carpenter. Jacque, a pediatric audiologist, and Kristi, a
speech pathologist, met many years before they began
Kidlfyx. Firmly
grounded in friendship, Jacque and Krisit combined their
professional strengths and Kristi’s passion for design to form
Kidlfyx Kreations.
Kidlfyx Kreations got its roots from the lack of imaginative
products for the small hearing impaired patients that Jacque was
seeing. In an effort to foster strong self esteem and ease the
transition of hearing aid wear, Jacque began asking her longtime
friend and colleague to make the products she needed. Kristi
designed cute little purses and Jacque filled them with maintenance
tools as part of her hearing aid fittings. Jacque listened to the
parents about items that were useful and those which were not.
Everyone was eager to help with the project Kristi and Jacque were
beginning to undertake.
Jacque continued to look for products within her own industry which
complained of stigma associated with hearing aids. However, she
found the few products available were unattractive, unimaginative,
and not always useful. Hence…the birth of Kidlfyx Kreations. In
addition to providing products for special needs populations, the
ABCs of Early Intervention for Communication Disorders is included
with any purchase or request from Kidlfyx Kreations or sister site,
Kidlfyx Koncepts. Jacque and Kristi advocate the earliest
intervention possible and will send the word out anyway they can!
Jacque and Kristi have since realized that the special needs
population is underserved in terms of cool products. They value
input and feedback from parents, professionals and anyone else that
has a need for something they can’t find. The products at Kidlfyx
Kreations are individualized for the unique folks they are designed
for.
Kristi’s inspiration for design comes from many “cool” nieces and
nephews and her two beautiful babies, Sam and Sophi Kate. Sam and
Sophi Kate arrived in the United States in March, 2005, from
Guatemala. Jacque’s passion for working with children comes from her
wonderful son, Nicholas, who was a great surprise and blessing late
in life. Together, Kristi and Jacque work hard to bring great joy to
other children and families who may be going through difficult
transitions.
Kristi received her undergraduate degree in communication disorders
from Oklahoma State University in 1989 and her graduate degree from
Oklahoma University in speech pathology in 1991. She works as a
speech pathologist as part of Oklahoma’s early intervention team.
Jacque received her undergraduate degree in communication disorders
from Missouri State University (formerly Southwest Missouri State
University) in 1997 and her graduate degree in 1999. She recently
finished her doctorate in Audiology from the Arizona Health Sciences
Center. Jacque is employed at the Tulsa City-County Health
Department in Child Guidance and works with Oklahoma state’s early
intervention team.
